Description: John Jacob Solomon (1856-1953) was one of England's finest trumpet performers during his time. In 1904 he became a founding member of the London Symphony Orchestra, and soon after became the country's leading proponent of the B-flat trumpet over the older alto trumpet in F. He was also professor of trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1894 to 1938.
