Walter Emerson (1856 – 1893) was cornet soloist with Patrick Gilmore’s famed band in 1878. He was considered to have no equal at the time. His version of Carnival of Venice has some similarities to that by Arban, but it is still quite different in many ways. It is a true virtuoso work. Cornet and piano parts included.
